PASS THE JOB

The contractor-to-contractor job-passing network

Booked solid? Pass the job to a trade you trust — earn a $500 finder's fee instead of turning the client away.

Opening soon in Alberta

When your company is booked solid, the usual choices are turning the client away or squeezing the job in and wearing yourself out. Pass The Job is a third choice: pass the job to a trusted company in your own trade, earn a finder's fee, and keep the client looked after.

Built for trades across Canada — now open in Alberta

Alberta is open first. The open Alberta boards are Edmonton, Calgary, Red Deer, Lethbridge, Grande Prairie, Fort McMurray, Medicine Hat, and elsewhere in Alberta.

How it works

  1. 1. Post the job

Your company is booked solid and a client needs work done. You post the job to your own trade's board, and you choose the finder's fee: $250 or $500.

  2. 2. A trusted company claims it

A company in the same trade — one in your trusted circle, or another member company on your trade's board — claims the job.

  3. 3. Connect and sort it out directly

Once a job is claimed, the two companies get each other's contact details and arrange the work between themselves. Pass The Job makes the connection; everything after that is between the two companies.

  4. 4. The finder's fee is paid company to company

The finder's fee — $250 or $500, chosen by the company that posted the job — is paid directly between the two companies, once the claiming company has been paid by its client. The site never touches the fee.

Nobody has to ask a trade they know for a cut, and nobody has to chase one. The job is posted with the fee already set, the site carries the reminders, and the personal relationship stays clean.

Membership

Free to join and browse. No card required.

A company's one-month free trial starts at its first pass — the first time a job it posted is claimed, or the first time it claims another company's job. Browsing, joining, and posting a job that goes nowhere never start the trial. After the trial, full use costs $19.99 a month plus GST. A company whose trial has ended and has not paid can still browse — it is never locked out.

Membership covers the 17 housing trades — plumbing, framing, electrical, roofing, siding, masonry and brick work, cabinet installation, flooring installation, cribbing, concrete work, railing installation, and the other trades that build and finish homes.
